Introduction
亚答街名字的由来， 源自这区过往的房屋都是亚达屋（Rumah Atap) 。但是后来因为一场大火，烧毁了当时所有的建筑，因此当时候的砂拉越白人拉惹下令不可以再使用亚达叶或木材等易燃的材料建筑屋子。于是1884年后就改为砖墙的建筑了。
英文名是Carpenter Street , Carpenter 的意思是木匠， 因为以前这里有很多的木匠。 除了有木匠铺，还有餐馆、咖啡店、小商店和庙宇等等。
这里也有很多历史性代表的建筑物，非常适合喜欢探索和了解历史的您。
The origin of the name Carpenter Street comes from the fact that the houses in this area are "rumah atap." But then, because of a fire, all the buildings at that time were burned down, so the Sarawak White Rajahs at that time ordered that flammable materials such as yada leaf or wood could no longer be used to build houses. So, after 1884, it was changed to a brick building.
The English name is Carpenter Street, because there used to be many carpenters here. In addition to carpentry shops, there are restaurants, coffee shops, small shops, temples and more.

这里每年一年一度的中秋节，都会有中秋节老街市集，大约一个星期的时间。
从carpenter street 的街头到街尾， 都摆设了各式各样的摊， 除了销售美食以外，还有一些传统种族文化的表演。 由于街道本身就不大，因此加上摊位的摆设，更加难以通行。 场景十分热闹，绝对的人挤人的现象会出现，还有就是非常难找到停车的位置。

This is one of my favorite streets in Kuching since there are a lot of historical buildings here. You can see the past of Kuching from here.
For the mooncake festival, you really must come earlier than usual, because it is quite hard to find a parking spot here. If not, you really will spend time looking for parking.
You need to be more careful here since this is a very popular place in Kuching and is mixed with many different races of people here too.
